Back home in the 51st House District!
Dear Prince William Neighbors,
It has been quite some time since I have posted to this website, but now that we’re home from Richmond and the very successful 2010 Session of the Virginia General Assembly, we are working hard to transform our campaign website to a fully functional On-Line District Office for the citizens of the 51st House District.
One thought at the outset: The comments posted to the front page of this website will be done by me personally and not by a member of my staff. I believe strongly that you need to know my thoughts in a direct way, and without being filtered through my staff. Likewise, I want to hear your unfiltered thoughts, so please stay in touch with me in person and by email, telephone, and website.
You’ll note that we’ve added on-line tools, such as “Click Here To Voice Your Opinions” and “Request to Meet With Rich,” to make it easy for you to stay connected with us. Over the last two months, we’ve worked hard to get our constituent services program up and running. In the process, we’ve attended as many as a half-dozen or dozen events each day in Prince William County—and we’ve continued to knock on doors and meet our fellow citizens, just as we did during last year’s campaign when we knocked on more doors than any other House of Delegates campaign in Virginia.
In the coming months, we’ll post regular updates to our On-Line District Office, to include photos, announcements, information about key events in Prince William County and in Richmond, and other information of importance to all of us in the 51st House District. Please check back frequently because the content will be updated on a regular basis.
Over the last month, we have visited all but one public school in the 51st House District—conferred with school principals, teachers, and staff—and have met with hundreds of students and parents of all grades at the senior high, middle, and elementary school levels. It has been an enriching experience for me, and I would like to especially congratulate the faculty, staff, and families of Springwoods Elementary School on the celebration of their 25th anniversary on Saturday, May 22nd. I was privileged to be a part of the day and joined with Dr. Steven L. Walts (Superintendent of Prince William County Schools) and Ms. Virginia Ripperger (Principal of Springwoods Elementary School) in celebrating this important milestone!
As I have traveled the length and breadth of the 51st since returning from Richmond in March, I have been amazed by the depth of community spirit in our fellow citizens. As I attend your events, I ask that you make a point to introduce yourself to me and to share your views with me, both positive and negative. I also ask that you invite me to your functions and events so that I am better equipped to represent you in Richmond and throughout the 51st District. Between myself, my wife Ruth, and my Legislative Assistant (LA), Ryan M. Galloway, I will ensure the fullest possible coverage of your event by my legislative office.
Additionally, please feel free to call on me via this website, at my email address (Rich@Rich4Delegate.com), or at our District office number (571-264-9983). If you need to reach me immediately with a constituent need and simply can’t wait, please don’t hesitate to call me at home (703-730-1380). I want you to have the full range of contact options at your disposal because I must first be reachable if I want to be responsive to your needs.
THANK YOU for the privilege of representing you and our fellow citizens in Richmond. I am here for you and look forward to seeing you soon—and often!
Warmest regards,

RICHARD L. ANDERSON
Delegate, 51st House District
Virginia General Assembly
