Thank You!
One week ago, the collective efforts of our campaign team and hundreds of supporters resulted in our successful election as the 51st House District Delegate to the Virginia General Assembly–and I emphasize the word “our” because I was but one participant in this very long process. The past week has been a non-stop whirlwind of emails, phone calls, letters, meetings in the District, trips to Richmond, and early efforts at planning for the coming Regular Session of the General Assembly that begins on January 13, 2010. As I think back over the last nine months, I am amazed that we now find ourselves at this point…poised to take the oath on the floor of the House of Delegates…ready to represent the citizens of the 51st in the oldest legislative body in the Western Hemisphere.
Since my retirement from the U.S. Air Force on February 1st of this year, our team has worked around the clock to earn the privilege of representing our fellow Virginians in Richmond. Over the last nine months, we visited 27,403 homes across Prince William County and have heard thousands of stories from behind those doors. In the process, I have done my very best to listen and learn, so that I am now ready to labor alongside my fellow Delegates in Richmond to do what is best for our Commonwealth.
At the outset, I pledge that I have but one goal in mind as your Delegate: To devote every degree of mind and spirit that I possess toward the long-range interests of Prince William County and the Commonwealth of Virginia. To that end, Ruth and I need your continued prayer and input, and my door will remain open so that I and the 51st District may benefit from your views and input on any and all issues. Our home telephone number appears below, simply because I must be readily reachable if I wish to be responsive to your needs. Please feel free to call on me at your convenience.
Thank you for the privilege you have entrusted to me. I look forward to the journey ahead, and I especially look forward to seeing you in the coming weeks and months at your doors, in my own home, and at the General Assembly in Richmond if your travels bring you to our capital city.
Sincerely,

Rich Anderson
Delegate-Elect, 51st District
Virginia House of Delegates
